Shane Jackman
Singer/Songwriter
Springville UT

My primary instruments are a Breedlove C-5 Northwest (I own the first ever made - serial # 1) and a Larrivee Dreadnaught. Both guitars are equipped with internal Crown microphones and Fishman saddle pick-ups, and I mix the signals through a Fishman Blender system, and send the mixed signal to the house.  I also play solid rosewood Telecaster.

With half a million miles and over a thousand concerts in the rearview mirror, Highway Records recording Artist Shane Jackman is the consummate performer.  Surpassing 150 concerts a year in the college theaters, festivals and grass roots halls, Shane has amassed a substantial national following.  He has shared the stage with some of the worlds most celebrated artists.

As a recording artist, each of Shane Jackman's 3 albums has garnered praise and critical acclaim industry wide, even spending well-earned time on the Americana Top 40 charts.  "These are songs to be envisioned, and tasted, and felt, and the only thing better than this CD would be Jackman and his friends around your campfire." For the past 3 years, I have been signed to Highway Records, a division of Excel Entertainment Group based in Salt Lake City, Utah.

I have recently scaled back on national touring, focusing mainly on the Intermountain Region in order to have a decent home life.  Highway Records makes that possible, by working a particular niche market that while global, is centered in Utah and the Intermountain West.

Performances are usually solo, however I often perform with a full band as well.
I often perform in company with Greg Simpson, Julie DeAzevedo, Maren Ord, Kenneth Cope, Ryan Schupe, Peter Breinholt, and Enoch Train. (Excel Artists)

I was influenced early on (besides my grandfather) by James Taylor, John Denver, Michael Martin Murphy, etc. Somewhere in my teens, I discovered Jackson Browne, Dan Fogelberg, Bruce Springsteen, John Mellencamp, and the like.

These days, I'm more influenced by the artists I personally associate with than by commercial stars.  There is so much incredible talent that is rarely heard outside of their town and niche, untainted by commercialism.  Most of the world is really missing out.

Bruce Springsteen "The Rising", Greg Simpson "Unspoken", Enoch Train "Set Sail", Doug Wintch "Wooden Nickels", Bebo Norman "10,000 days"

"Wind, rain sun and sweat, these old strings are not dead yet."
