At the age of 13, I started playing guitar in Richardson, Texas at the local YMCA.  At 18, I picked up the banjo and learned how to finger pick using the Earl Scruggs method.  I quickly transfered the banjo (2 finger style) over to the guitar.  Once I started experimenting with alternate tunings I never looked back.  I haven't played in standard tuning in 10 years.
