Christian Serpas & Ghost Town
Country
New Orleans LA

There's a place on the fringe of mainstream country where tradition meets innovation, where a nod to the past is as important as a glance toward the future.  It's here that artists like Dwight Yoakam, Marty Stuart, and the Derailers create their own legacies in the shadows of the giants, and it's here that Louisiana's country rockers, Christian Serpas & Ghost Town, choose to make their mark.

Rising from the honky tonk haze of New Orleans, Ghost Town blasted into country music's consciousness in 1999, tipping their hats to Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, and Buck Owens, while creating their own distinctive brand of boot-stomping, hip-swaying country.

Ghost Town won the New Orleans JIMMY DEAN TRUE VALUE COUNTRY SHOWDOWN only four months after their first show, and quickly built a strong reputation throughout the region as a high energy live act.  Since then, Ghost Town has turned in sparkling opening sets before heavyweights including Merle Haggard, Dwight Yoakam, Montgomery Gentry, Randy Travis, Brad Paisley, Terri Clark, Joe Nichols, Asleep at the Wheel, Mark Chesnutt, Steve Holy, SheDaisy, David Allan Coe, Blake Shelton, Pat Green, Chely Wright, Cowboy Mouth, Hank Williams III, Jerry Jeff Walker and Kenny Chesney, and increased their fanbase with each performance.

In the summer of 2000 Ghost Town released a five song CD titled "Electric Hoedown", which completely sold out.  The disc earned them a surprising amount of airplay, plenty of rave reviews, and favorable comparisons to Dwight Yoakam, Buck Owens, Johnny Cash, and Elvis Presley.  The CD was voted "ALBUM OF THE YEAR" by readers of Tambalaya magazine, who also voted Serpas "MALE VOCALIST OF THE YEAR".

In 2002, Ghost Town offered "Giddy Up", their first full length CD.  Eleven songs showcasing their unique brand of memorable, radio-ready country, a disc crackling with the enthusiasm and passion of a band out to grab some attention and turn some heads.  From the opening notes you'll know that Ghost Town is something different, and with irresistible sing-a-longs like "There Ain't No Good in Goodbye" and "That's It, I Quit, I'm Gone", rockers like "There She Goes", "She Won't Even Miss Me When I'm Gone", and their blazing rendition of the Buck Owens classic, "Tiger By the Tail", "Giddy Up" is like a breath of fresh, cool, country air.  Offbeat Magazine named "Giddy Up" one of the TOP CDS OF 2002 and nominated it as Louisiana Country Album of the Year in their Best of the Beat awards.

So come meet the new neighbors of Dwight, Marty, and the Derailers as they add their fresh twist to a respected tradition.  "There's a new sheriff in town," wrote music critic Roger Kennedy about Ghost Town, "and he brought along his guitar."
