Born March 17th into a musical family. Started playing steel guitar at the age of 10. Switched to bass at 12 totally self-taught. Played the tuba and baritone horn in high school and all through college. As an adult, studied electric bass with Carol Kaye. Classical training on the acoustic bass with Herman Burkhart. Informal lessons with Joe Osborn, David Hungate and Chuck Rainey.
