How to Use Dynamics to Improve any Guitar Performance

Technique: Thumb and Fingers as Orchestration Tools

Fingerstyle master Alex de Grassi demonstrates the use dynamics (volume variations) to highlight and contrast the interplay between the thumb and fingers; and to add color, nuance, and refinement to any guitar performance. If you find your guitar strumming is a little blazah, adding dynamics could be the answer.

Alex de Grassi is a long-time Elixir® Strings endorsing artist, acclaimed acoustic guitar virtuoso, stylistic innovator, music educator and author.

I get more volume, a balanced sound, and my strings last longer when I use Elixir Phosphor Bronze Strings.
